Discover the world of spirits online with this five-week (5) online course.
The course has been designed to provide introductory spirits knowledge and training to those employed or those wishing to pursue a career in the liquor industry. It is also ideally suited to anyone who has a serious interest and wants to deepen their knowledge of international spirits and obtain an internationally recognised qualification. No prior knowledge is required, although it is recommended that absolute beginners begin with Level 1.
Enrolment
Course enrolment for Online WSET courses closes nine (9) working days prior to course commencement date. For further clarity, bookings must be received by 6 pm AWST, nine (9) working days prior to the course starting on the stated Monday. Any booking received after this time will not be processed.

Course Delivery
Delivered in English via the WSET Online Classroom platform, this official digital course, administered by WSET Global, offers total schedule flexibility, free from set timings. You can participate at your convenience, interacting with fellow students from around the world as well with a Certified WSET Educator assigned by the WSET Global.
This online course is run through WSET Global with the guidance and support of a WSET educator during the 5 weeks. You can contact the educator at any time for the duration of the scheduled course, should you have any questions.

Course Duration
This course is a 5-week, 6 module online learning programme with educator support available for this time. The course is asynchronous: You are free to complete the modules at your own pace during this 5-week window however it is recommended that the course modules should be followed in sequential order during this 5-week window. There is a recommendation of 6 hours study per week to cover the online activities and reading of the relevant chapters in the textbook. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study.
After the 5 weeks, you'll still have access to the content for one year, although you won't be able to participate in the discussion forum and interact with your online classmates anymore.
Course Materials
The course fee includes access to the WSET Online Classroom, a student study pack including reading material and the Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) and an exam via Remote Invigilation.
The study pack can be collected or be posted (an extra fee of $20.00 will apply) to anywhere in Australia.
Spirit Samples
Spirit samples are not included in the course fee.
Students will be provided a list of recommended spirits to purchase to assist with their tasting practice.

Assessment
There is an exam of 50 multiple-choice questions that must be completed within 1 hour . The exam can be sat in your own home with Remote Invigilation. To pass you must get a minimum of 55% of the answers correct.
Exam date
The exam is taken online via Remote Invigilation (RI). The RI exam date is indicated when enrolling for the course.
If you cannot sit on the date indicated, please inform TSOW when enrolling/booking the course.

Successful completion of the exam will lead to the internationally recognised WSET Award, receiving a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

You must be 18 years or older to enrol.
Cancellation
Cancellations notified in writing more than 14 days before the program begins are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations notified within 14 days of the program will not receive a refund.
If a program is cancelled by The Spirit of Wine, you are entitled to a full refund.
If you register and pay within 14 days of the course commencement date you will not be eligible for a refund here.
